6 ways to stay nourished

NOURISH: to provide with substances necessary for growth, health, and wellbeing AKA exactly what we all need & deserve right now. I know for me, personally, with all of this extra time it can be hard to determine how to best spend my days. But one thing that I've committed to is nourishing myself holistically and prioritizing my emotional & physical wellbeing in all of this collective change that we're feeling. If you could use some extra nourishment, but you're not quite sure where to start -- this is the list for you ♥

1] Light palo santo

Palo santo is a fragrant wood that has healing properties and benefits such as cleansing energy, inspiring creativity, and calming the mind. More benefits can be found in this blog here.

2] Stay hydrated

So simple, so tough. This one is my weakness and I added it to this list intentionally. If drinking water is as challenging for you as it is for me (why?!) I suggest trying Trader Joe's Alkaline Water + Electrolytes or adding mint to your water.

3] Practice yin yoga

Yin yoga involves holding restorative postures to give your muscles a juicy stretch. You will hold postures for 5-10 minutes. It can be a very loving way to practice yoga and to restore your mind and body with so much transition in the air.

4] Get upside down before bed

I recently shard this tip in my Virtual Wellness Retreat and am now obsessed. My favorite way to do this? Lay upside down on your bed. Rest your feet on your headboard. Close your eyes and take 5-10 minutes to reflect on your day. Pro tip: light a candle or your palo santo while chilling in this posture.

5] Build rest into your routine

Oh rest. We all need it, but often we avoid it. Especially when things feel chaotic. Schedule times for rest into your calendar. Build it into your day. Even 10 minutes of meditation or gentle stretches can make a major difference mentally and emotionally.

6] Drink calming teas

A few calming teas that I love include maca, ashwaganda, chammomile, or lavendar. Any brand will do, just look for these ingredients on the label.
